The (Commonweatlth) Round Table is a worldwide community of individuals involved in international affairs and drawn from academic, political, bureaucratic and non-governmental spheres, with the principal function of producing the Round Table - The Commonwealth Journal of International Affairs.. First published in 1910, this quarterly Journal remains a highly reputable source of analysis and commentary on world affairs particularly in relation to the role of the contemporary Commonwealth.

The formation of the Commonwealth Round Table in Australia (CRTA) represents the revival of a Round Table group in Australia and the coming together of a number of individuals interested in promoting the Commonwealth and Australia's role in it.

The CRTA was established following the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) at Coolum in Queensland in March 2002 where leaders reaffirmed their belief in the Commonwealth as an important and continuing contributor to global peace and security and the betterment of mankind.

The CRTA is a not-for-profit voluntary group of individuals who work in association with each other to further the aims of the CRTA. There is no membership as such but its activities are open to the public and it welcomes expressions of support and participation. See How to get Involved.
